Our training and riding lesson programs are oriented towards natural horsemanship methods. We feel that learning to communicate with your horse while on the ground is as important as in the saddle. It is our experience that riders who ground skills first have a higher level of confidence while in the saddle. We offer lessons and training for both English and Western disciplines. We have both indoor and outdoor riding arenas so that students can ride during inclement weather or after dark.

Training your horse to meet your horsemanship goals is our aim at Double R. Before your horse is taken in for training, we will meet with you and your horse to do a complete evaluation of horse and rider. We start with the approach of the total horse — nutrition, feet, body condition and overall health to ensure that your horse can take you to the level of horsemanship that you desire. We encourage owner visits and participation during your period of horse training to allow for future success with your horse. During the time of training, progress will be reported and discussed each step of the way. At the opening evaluation, a time period for training is estimated.

Boarding is available at Double R — long or short term. Whether you need long term board or are just passing through, we can accommodate you. Our monthly boarders have a 12' x 12' stall, daily turnout (weather permitting), hay, feed and stall cleaning. The barn is fully heated in the winter and each stall has a fan for warmer weather.

The barn has 16 stalls, each with a window to the outside. There is a locked tack room for your equipment. Double R has a lighted 60' x 132' indoor arena and an outdoor riding ring. A warm water wash stall is also available.
