Some very skilled clinicians grace our barn with their presence as we strive for excellence in our knowledge of horsemanship.
Healthy Stride Workshops and Clinics
Jim Crew has developed a system of evaluating, shoeing and trimming horses through decades of experience in equine biomechanics and farriery. Having worked with and owned many high end show horses, Jim has been successful in evaluating and shoeing for a balanced posture of the whole horse—not just shoeing the feet to a formula. Healthy Stride is the personal farrier to the performance horses owned by Linda and Pat Parelli and their natural horsemanship program. In our own barn, horse owners have been brought to tears after their horses have been balanced and shod. The horses are able to perform fluidly whereas they were unable to trot or canter just before being balanced. Click here for upcoming clinics with Healthy Stride.
Most Equine Solutions
Joe and Penny Most are not your typical horsemanship instructors. They give you a total horse makeover and improve your seat. A typical weekend clinic includes review of your tack and your riding style with suggestions to better fit you and your horse. So many of us have bits that aren’t the right size or misunderstand their designed use. Joe will explain that could by one of the issues that hinders your riding goals. Working within your skill level, they start from the ground up to create a safe, confident rider. Helping riders of all skills and disciplines, they are courteous, pleasant and most importantly, patient. Come to one of our clinics and let them help you reach your next plateau. Mark Russell Horsemanship Clinic | October 11-12, 2008
Mark likes to share his enthusiasm for the horse with others who also believe horses are intelligent, responsive beings who love to please within a trusting relationship. It is essential to maintain this philosophy when educating the horse as the creation of lightness is dependent on it. It is the rider's responsibility to speak softly, attend to and listen to the horse's thoughts, emotions, physical language and abilities. When the rider keeps the horse's perspective at the forefront, a strong alliance emerges, creating a scenario in which the rider can depend on their horse to respond thoughtfully, rather than react defensively. This is the foundation for beginning to educate the horse. There are a few rider spots available Contact Donna Tully 828-230-2517 or click to send email to Donna.
