Double R Stables is a boarding, training and lesson facility located in the mountains of Asheville, NC. Offering an assortment of boarding options, we accommodate long-term boarders and for the short-term, trail riders and travelers.

Packages can be customized to fit your plans that include guided trail rides, overnight stays in our cottage or in your RV, and stalls for your horses. Passes to ride on local trails are prepurchased with your reservations, so you can spend your time on the trails, not waiting in line!

Double R is owned and operated by Skip and Brigitte Ruckle, both horse lovers and students of natural horsemanship. They are gracious, welcoming hosts and you will find your stay at the cottage and stables restful and relaxing with comfortable accommodations.

Our experienced equine professionals, Ron Stanley and Heather Fahy, provide training and lessons for horse and rider. Whether your discipline is Western or English, our focus is on natural horsemanship and we can help you achieve your horsemanship goals. There are also opportunities to increase your knowledge of the horse through regularly scheduled clinics.
